Yoga and mindfulness for the elderly

Caring for older people is a cornerstone of our culture. By means of yoga and mindfulness training, we help improve quality of life, support vitality and provide pleasure through sharing.
We organise regular exercising with a quality yoga and mindfulness instructor.

It is often sufficient to be aware more of your own body, which starts to be healthier automatically. Yoga can even be practiced in a lying position in bed. The mere idea of a specific movement activates the muscle tissue in the applicable area and improves blood circulation.

Older people can give us so much valuable experience. Let’s help them retain their vitality and ability to share their joyful thoughts. One day, when they leave their body, they will have a smile on their faces showing that they enjoyed their time here.

How we help

  1. We find instructors for individual homes for the elderly from nearby.
  2. An instructor visits the home for the elderly once a week and practices yoga with the residents according to their capabilities.
  3. We reimburse the instructor’s costs. Neither the residents nor the home pay anything, as the yoga lessons are free of charge.

Each instructor has a unique style of yoga, yet the overriding principle is that during the yoga practice the residents focus on themselves, their breathing, their bodies and their feelings, and not on their performance or what is going on around them.

Where we exercise

Over 712 elderly people all over the Czech Republic regularly exercise with us every week. Currently at the following locations: Prague, Brno, Olomouc, Plzeň, Dobřichovice, Stará Boleslav, Brandýs n. Labem, Úvaly, Říčany, Jablonec n. N., Zruč n. Sázavou, Onšov, Unhošť, Rakovník, Jílové u Prahy, Benešov, Klatovy, Domažlice, Kdyně, Jesenec, Mariánské Lázně, Ostrov, Klášterec n. O., České Budějovice, Horní Planá, Frymburk, Loučovice, Přelouč, Ústí n. O., Krnov, Kroměříž, Zlín a Luhačovice and we continue to arrange more.

The yoga is practiced either in the homes for the elderly that the instructor visits, or we also support yoga at yoga centres for active older people who travel to their yoga classes themselves.
